2014 American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo
With more than 700 companies exhibiting in 2,000+ exhibit booths, the AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo is the world’s largest exposition for clinical laboratory products and services. More than 20,000 decision makers and influencers from the IVD marketplace are present; more lab directors, managers, administrators, supervisors, researchers, GPO executives, and product development specialists attend this meeting than any other in this industry. Vital research and important changes in the field are highlighted with upwards of 200 new product introductions each year.
GE Student Research Summit (SRS)
The Student Research Summit (SRS) aims to bring the top graduate students in science and engineering to GE’s world class research facility in Niskayuna, NY. Through this university/industry partnership, GE’s technology story and industrial career paths were explored. This event featured talks from several technology experts as well as laboratory tours and networking opportunities. There was also be a poster gallery session to present student posters on current research topics.
69th American Helicopter Society (AHS) Forum
The AHS 69th Annual Forum and Technology Display is the world's leading international conference on vertical flight technology. The three-day event includes over 200 technical presentations on every discipline from Acoustics to Unmanned Systems. The Technology Display, running concurrent with the Forum, is the most extensive exposition of cutting edge vertical flight technologies in the world, and also includes other technologies more broadly applicable to aerospace in general. Leading manufacturers, service providers, defense agencies, universities and research and development organizations will showcase the very latest in vertical flight technology.
College of Engineering Research Symposium (CERS)
The College of Engineering Research Symposium (CERS) is organized by the Engineering Graduate Student Council (EGSC) with the support of The College of Engineering. CERS is a platform for all students at Penn State to showcase their research work. CERS showcases the technology being developed within University Park in areas such as: science, engineering, and mathematics. It is the most prestigious symposium within the College of Engineering with up to 200 participants annually.
The Graduate Exhibition celebrates research in all its aspects as an essential and exciting part of graduate education at Penn State. Established in 1986, the Graduate Exhibition places special emphasis on communicating research and creative endeavor to a general audience and offers an unusual opportunity for professional development by challenging graduate students to present their work in clear, comprehensible terms to people outside their fields. The Graduate Exhibition is also an opportunity for graduate students to see themselves as part of the larger University community, to share their creativity, and to appreciate the breadth of quality research being done at Penn State.
Global Engagement and Leadership Experience (GELE)
The Global Engagement and Leadership Experience (GELE) brings together international and U.S. students to positively impact campus climate and society by inspiring Penn State Students -- future leaders -- to transform themselves into globally engaged and responsible citizens.
Sapphire Leadership Symposium
This all-day event focused on topics in effective leadership and ethics, featured keynote speakers and interactive workshops. The speaker list included Smeal College of Business faculty, as well as industry professionals such as Lou Grabowsky, chief operating officer at Grant Thornton, and former Deloitte Vice Chairman Tony Buzzelli.
The first event of its kind for Design Thinking worldwide, the “d.confestival“ was the destination for multidisciplinary thinkers travelling to Potsdam to collaboratively impact the future of Design Thinking in the fields of management, learning and research. On their 3-day journey, 677 participants, 143 speaker and 59 volunteers from 31 nations and 355 companies experienced an exceptionally productive atmosphere created by merging the focus of a conference and the fun of a festival. Design Thinkers, innovators and creative pioneers like Hasso Plattner, David Kelley and Oliviero Toscani interacted in vibrant open formats with international experts. The aim of the three-day conference: The development of innovative ideas, concepts and user-centered creative processes as the raw material for the competitive advantage of tomorrow.
Intersolar Europe takes place annually at Messe München. It is the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry and its partners. In 2015, more than 1,000 international exhibitors and around 38,000 trade visitors attended Intersolar Europe. The exhibition focuses on the areas of photovoltaics, PV production technologies, energy storage systems and renewable heating. Since its founding, it has become the most important industry platform for manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers and partners of the solar industry. The accompanying Intersolar Europe Conference consolidates the topics of the exhibition.
DAAD Scholarship Holder Conference
Taking place in Heidelberg and Bonn, these conferences allow RISE Pro scholarship holders to network, visit leading industry firms, and receive guidance from program administrators and alumni. In particular, this helps ease the transition associated with living and working in Germany for the first time. This supports the mission of DAAD, which brings together top students from North America to participate in challenging industrial internships and meaningful cultural exchange.
